Conversion charge

In accordance with the Federal Network Agency's decision in the administrative proceedings on account of determination to introduce a conversion system in cross-quality gas market areas of 27 March 2012 (BK7-11-002), GASPOOL charges a conversion fee regardless of the direction of conversion.

On account of this determination, the first-time ceiling on the conversion fee was set at €1.76/MWh for the GASPOOL market area on 1 October 2012.

The Market Area Manager is hereafter obliged to reduce the conversion fee over four years. The conversion fee must be reduced by at least 25 percentage points annually according to the reduction path to finally amount to Zero €/MWh as of October 1, 2016.

Since October 1, 2013 the ceiling on the conversion fee has been €1.32/MWh.

GASPOOL has fixed the conversion fee for the period October 1, 2014 to March 31, 2015 below the predetermined ceiling at €0.88/MWh.

Conversion allocation

As the main alternative scenarios feature both shortfalls and excesses, there is no need to levy an allocation.

High control energy costs in winter 2013/14 are due to overlapping market area.

From 1 January 2015, a neutrality charge of 0,0282 €/kWh/h/a will be applied in the market area GASPOOL to recover the costs for switching over network areas from low to high calorific value gas quality.

Starting October 1, 2014, GASPOOL will procure control energy from TTF (Title Transfer Facility) in the Netherlands.
